In 2004 Dan bought the Hiline Tin Shop from Ernie and Phyllis Eder, whose family had run the business in downtown Burien since 1930. While one half of the space was used as a storefront for Dan the Sausageman, Dan had big plans for the other half. He set about transforming the shop into a vibrant neighborhood bar and restaurant that honored its past life and owners, while welcoming in a new generation of Burien residents.
The Tin Room Bar has been a community hub ever since, hosting events, celebrations, and fundraisers to support and uplift our neighbors. While the Tin Room is now temporarily closed due to the pandemic, the staff (and margarita recipe!) have moved to the Burien Pizzeria just a few doors up the road.
